Junior Buyer

Purpose and objectives of the role

Form part of a small team who are responsible for the procurement of electronic /mechanical components in accordance with the manufacturing requirements for a diverse product range, including medical and aerospace applications. The primary objective is to ensure that all daily purchasing activities are completed in a timely manner.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for On-Time Delivery of components and other materials to support production.
  • Placing/expediting orders with suppliers in line with the MRP system
  • Working closely with suppliers, monitoring and reviewing KPIs.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to meet customer demand, escalating any issues.
  • Review production shortages and overdue purchase orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of the cost, quality and performance of materials purchased.
  • Reconciliation of any invoice queries

Skills

  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel

Experience

Experience within a fast-moving manufacturing role and MRP is advantageous, but training will be provided
